This tea is loose and individually packaged in packets. The leaves are dry and and a bit fragile, but powdery at all. Good tea should be quite fragrant, even when dry, and this tea is. I rinsed the tea twice with hot water as recommend in the description. I then seeped the tea in my cup with a special tea leaf spoon/basket I have. The longer I let the tea seep, the darker the tea got. The water ended up very dark, almost like a cola color, or similar to how a good black tea should look. The flavor is actually kinda mild and not overly bitter, but has a smokey like taste. I noticed the tea gave me a good well-being like feel, but not a nervous energy that black tea can sometimes do. I noticed because of the good well-being/energy I had, I seemed to not crave to snack, and when I checked my blood sugar after eating, the levels were in normal range and about 5 points lower than they normally are. I then deiced to try this tea with Stevia, and it was even good semi-sweet; therefore making this a overall a very good tea in my book!
