It's cost will definitely be less and works just the same.Overall, it doesn't make the AirPods case that much larger. I can't really tell a huge difference at all. And the added functionality of wireless charging (something Apple should've done in the first place) is worth every penny. So far I haven't had any problems with this case functioning at all. Stays closed, charges my AirPods just fine. It is like reviewing a paperclip. It just works. There is nothing fancy or complicated to do to use this. You simply insert your AirPod case into the wireless charging case. The socket for the Lightning connector slides into its mating lightning connector in the inside of the wireless charging case. It would really be hard to do this wrong. Then when you want to charge your AirPods, place your slightly larger AirPod case on your Qi wireless charger. A green light comes on at the bottom of the case to let you know that it is charging. That is all there is to it.
