I leave this plugged in my garage and use it daily to charge a Nissan Leaf. If you don't NEED a superfast charger, a 6-20 outlet may be the best compromise to have installed as you won't need a heavy capacity breaker. No damage despite several nearby lightning strikes while plugged in. Nice thick but pliable cord. Have at times charged a car that was a few feet outside of garage with the cord under the closed door. Was worried the door would not close but it was fine and did not visibly damage cord. Would not want the box plugged in outside exposed to rain, but the part that plugs into car fits perfectly and functioned fine even in heavy rain. This is about a 3.3 KW charger which adds about 12 miles of range per hour on my car. It has a temperature display which is always between 35-40 degrees C (no winter here in South Florida) and shows KW hour used and charging time that resets every time car is plugged in. A little hard to read display from a distance as it is not in color,but am very pleased with this unit. Best bargain out there. Comes with an adaptor to slow charge from a regular outlet as well. Even if you have a thirstier EV than mine you can probably count on 10 miles of usable range per hour. I think this is really the sweet spot for speed and maximizing battery and charger life. I plan on using 2 more of these in the future from a 14-50 outlet with a Y splitter and adaptors. I think this will last much longer than higher output chargers. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars False Advertising *by A***H on Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2020* I purchased this as a Level 1 and Level 2 device with the adapter plug they specified. However, it came in with the wrong adapter and when the vendor was contacted they offered to pay for the parts if I would "construct my own" or pay for an adapter if I could find one on the internet. I notified them that I found the correct adapter and gave them the website and cost and NEVER heard back. Very disappointing. It does work well as a Level 1 charger as long as you only use a 120V household outlet, but that was not what I was buying. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Short lived great value for both 15 and 20 amp 110v circuits (only lasted 4 months) *by M***W on Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2019* Great for using on 15 or 20 amp circuits on 110v in locations without 220v. In order to use for lower amperage circuits, plug into the wall outlet and change your amp setting accordingly. Works great as a factory replacement, my only criticism is that there is no good way to wrap the cord up specific to the bag size. When unreeling to plug in it would be nice to keep it more organized. Overall, I highly recommend it for the price.Update 08/19/2019: After having great luck for 4 months using the charger it no longer works when plugging in to the vehicle.
