Layrite was the perfect replacement and is a noticeable upgrade. Spreads very easily through your hair, has a good medium hold which allows you to easily restyle on the fly by just running your hands through your hair, and little to no residue is left on your hands. The finish has a noticeable shine when your hair catches some light, but doesn't look greasy or wet. The cream soda scent is smooth and subtle, and the product washes out easily. I will say though, it is definitely on the high end of the price spectrum when it comes to pomades, for comparison the current Old Spice is $5 for 65g, Dove Men Medium hold is $8 for 49g, Layrite is $13 for 42g, and Reuzel is $19 for 35g. It's more expensive than it'd like it to be, but out of the products I've tried this was the best for my hair. Just bought a 297g tub, definitely a better value.
