Just cut to size, apply some water on your window, stick the film on and trim edges with a craft knife. I've used it in the front room with about 1cm left of the window framing the frosted area (so we can still kind of see what's going on LOL) and the only thing that would make it even better would be to have a white backing paper with straight lines every 0.5cm (a bit like the sticky plastic for schoolbooks) so lines would be very easily cut straight. But with the nice geometric pattern even the wobbly lines are barely noticeable.
