What more do you need to know? ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked perfectly thank you *by P***N on 10 April 2023* No issues and fixed my microphone that wasn’t working on my dads phone! Back to good as new thank you ### ⭐ 4hrs effectively wasted *by G***K on 16 September 2024* I had three components to replace so ordered them all together: iPhone 7 screen, battery and lightning port. The Battery and Screen were both from another vendor but that vendor didn't sell this ribbon cable so I had to order this elsewhere and unfortunately chose this one.Immediately on opening the Amazon box there was an obvious difference in quality. The battery and screen were both in their own boxes along with good quality screwdrivers, a suction cup, a plastic spudger, a plastic prising tool and a SIM removal tool. They also both included replacement screen adhesive to properly secure the screen again after replacing either component. This ribbon cable was in a ziplock bag with another small plastic bag of three miniature screwdrivers of the sort I'd expect to see fall out of a Christmas Cracker not arrive with a serious repair part dropped in almost as an afterthought.Luckily both the screen and battery came with all the tools needed to actually open the phone and undo any screw inside. Only thing not supplied was something to heat the screen to soften the glue but a microwave hand-warmer did the trick nicely. Out of interest I tried all three of the screwdrivers sent with this kit and found they are just as useless as they look! The Pentalobe and Tri-point drivers didn't fit the screws on the iPhone 7 and the Philips screws (which did kinda fit the screwdriver) were too tightly fitted to get them undone with these miniature drivers. They were therefore immediately thrown in the bin and I got down to actually trying to do the repairs.I've worked on PCs, Laptops and Tablets before but with this being my first time working on an iPhone, I decided to start from the top down, do one part at a time and test my work after each replacement just in case. I very carefully stripped it down and replaced the screen first then booted and tested with no problems. I then continued to the Battery and again booted and tested, again no problems.Now came the hard part. This Lightning Port Ribbon Cable is right at the back of the phone. It literally sticks to a track on the rear case so almost everything has to come out to get to it. I therefore removed everything before carefully peeled out the old Lightning Port Ribbon and tried fitting this one. Straight away, the cable didn't line up in the same trace as the old cable. It's very close but in the tight tolerances of an iPhone interior the 0.5-1mm difference in how it sat meant it was far from an easy swap as ports, screw holes and connectors didn't quite line up properly and everything needed jiggling and shuffling about to get everything reinstalled and connected up. Once I'd finally managed to get everything connected up (about 4hrs from start to finish), I again booted it up to test it... and found the phone was now in an infinite boot loop with an Apple Logo just cycling on and off the screen.Initially I wondered if I'd possibly damaged or missed connecting something during the strip-down and reassembly, however just to try it I simply disconnected this ribbon's connector from the motherboard and connected the old ribbon without the long tear-down/reassembly process and the phone booted straight up no problem. Disconnected that and reconnected this and again it started boot-looping.So now I need to order another ribbon and spend another 4hrs or so stripping and reassembling my iPhone.I did learn an important lesson though. If it's a Ribbon Cable part like this, always just plug it into the motherboard and test it works properly *before* spending 4hrs stripping and reassembling a device!
