The packaging was opened when I received it. The scale had chunks of food stuck under the metal top and food/water spots on top. The batteries were dead. I reached out to amazon and they insured me that I ordered a β€œnew” one. Amazon sent me a replacement and the replacement came unused and works great!! Touching the control panel to achieve a tear, change units, or turn the unit off or on becomes increasingly nonresponsive. They are extremely prone to being do you destroyed by water, I think even A film of water on the countertop can screw up the electronics. Anyhow they were very good about replacing them just by discussing it over the phone, did that even send it back. I had bought these more than once through Costco. But now they don’t answer my voicemails and so I have bought two others off Amazon here today to test them out.
