I was willing to pay more for this because I like the wall mount and permanent wiring option. Perhaps the metal case version of this heater would have been worth the extra money, but at this point I don't really trust the brand enough to try it. Today I am off to my local store to buy a cheap plug in heater so I can get through the rest of the winter. edit: I tore it down and found it was the fan motor that burned up. The heater core and the plastic case were all unharmed and fine. If I can find a replacement motor I will keep the heater. If not... edit 2: Called US Distributor. Sending me a new unit & return box for old one no charge.
