I used to use the purple plastic ones and the metal ones from Walgreen with the smooth teeth. After combing through their hair, I had to go through my daughter's hair by hand to pick out the nits. It also did a good job of getting the lice out, but the nits!! Most combs I found did not get nits out very well.
