I had tried bare-root Joan J raspberries before and just got sticks that never budded out. Maybe my fault, I don't know, but I thought I would try the potted plants. When they arrived I thought maybe they were not potted after all, because the box was very light. But yes, they had a very small plug of potting soil, and nice healthy looking green leaves. I immediately up-potted them and have been very happy with them after a week. Except that one of my cats bit the stem off of one of them after only a couple hours (not pictured here). Then planted them in the hugelkultur bed a few weeks ago. Plus they are thornless.
