Review: A great tool... - As an ex-Chef and Pattiseur I am very impressed by the quality of this scraper. It’s sharp enough to slice dough and score baguettes etc and excellent for clearing anything stuck on the granite etc. It’s excellent for cleaning up any other mess made in bakery, pastries and cake making, and sharp enough to even cut your fingers if you’re not concentrating on what you’re doing! It is not flexible enough, however for scraping out bowls, a plastic scraper is needed for this! Although I don’t work professionally now, I still love to cook and bake at home, so only the best tools will do! The scraper may feel heavy to some, but overall I believe this will last a very long time. The measurements are an added bonus to those that find conversions frustrating to work out, myself included especially when it comes to exact measurements of what one cup is equal to.... and so on. I’ve always found that guess work has worked well for me, still having the odd hiccup along the way, but then I’ve been fully trained for nearly 40 years now, so I’ve been used to guessing out how many ingredients I need for a long time. Having mostly worked in the patisserie sector with cakes and pastries, one learns quickly enough that scales are not needed so much now, unless I’m working on something new, but the measurements are accurate enough for those not so confident in guess work. My preference to choose the plastic handle to the wooden is because if the wood isn’t a good wood then it would soon rot away leaving one with a useless item to be work with. There are many different thickness grades of this tool , so some maybe flexible to work with for preferred use. In all I think this is a great tool which has been beautifully made and should stand the test of time, and should the handle come away from the blade, with the right glue ( food friendly, that is ) it can be restuck to the blade!

A: The scraper comes in a box that says 'made in China'

**Q: Can this scraper be used to cut baked pizza or would I be better to get a longer rocker type cutter?**
A: Get a longer rocker.  This scraper does have a tapered edge, but not sharp.  Great for cutting raw dough though!

**Q: Is there one or two in an order?**
A: There is only one in the order

**Q: Does the top get hot to touch?**
A: No this must be some NASA style plastic but assume it would burn you if the plastic melted so don’t do that.
