It comes apart, it doesn’t fold up. It’s very lightweight and the wood is very, very brittle. I dropped one of the sections from the counter into the sink and it broke into three pieces. Problem is with end piece - unless held down to stabilize sides, unit will wobble and cause uneven slices. Maybe adding another end piece would help.
