**Q: What's the width of the blade at the widest point?**
A: This blade is made from a thin piece of stamped steel just slightly over 1/16" thick and 2 5/16" at its widest point.

A: I don't know how much it weighs but it's a great machete. The steel holds a good edge and the length gives a good swing path. I have several of these.

**Q: What type of steel is this made of?**
A: Carbon steel, just as it should be. Super tough, doesn't bend (it's flexible but snaps back like spring steel), and easy to sharpen. This is a tool that is intended to be used, not some toy from the local box store. If you don't like rust, spray it down with wd-40 or similar when done using it, or simply don't worry about it and let it build a patina. I nailed some rocks with mine while trimming close to the ground, and I was surprised how well the edge held. It only took a minute or two to work it back into a razor sharp edge (thank you carbon steel).
