Getting the settings right, delay and sensitivity, it does not flicker and works at very low amps, as in welding 0.5mm. Think some peole just went with whatever came out of the box. Also though quite thin the mask is made of polyamide think nylon so is strong though flexible and will mean it does not crack. It also has replaceable batteries CR2032 so cheap and easy to replace with the battry compartment. So compared to nearly any other with true vision or not seems exceptional for the price. I should also add even while experimanting to find your best and favourite setting even shade 4 grind setting will protect your eyes as shade 4 filter out all UV and IF that could damage your eyes or give you even temporary 'arc eye'.
