It has to stay upright due to the sediment and I got so tired of doing our shopping on a Saturday and having to squish everything in the fridge to accommodate his beer. We have no room for a second fridge unless it goes in the garage and won’t work out there. The little drinks fridges are fine for cans but not bottles like he uses. So I did a bit of investigating and found this little gem. It’s absolutely brilliant. Along with an adapt or to plug into the mains this is the perfect temporary solution for his weekend beer without filling the fridge up. It’s not very noisy at all, just a fan noise but it’s not intrusive at all. Very roomy too, holds 12 upright hobgoblin size bottles and then there is still room on top. He sets it going when he pits his beer in about midday and also puts a couple freezer blocks in just so it doesn’t have to work so hard. It took about 15 hours to get them down by 12 degrees below ambient. Once there it's fine. It has no thermostat, so just runs permanently. As per previous comment, if possible cool items elsewhere and just use this to keep them cool **Q: Hey can you tell me if you can use the adapter to put it in the mains 240w** A: You need a 12v to mains adapter **Q: Could I install this in a car boot? I am worried about any expelled hot air perhaps from a fan or something** A: I use mine for camping trips in my van and leave it running for days on end. I think it would be okay in a car boot for days out but the cooling effect would suffer if left in a boot with the car parked up. It would be fine while driving.
