The instructions direct you to spray it anew every time you change the litter pan, and you must wash and dry the litter pan before spraying. If you have an automatic litter pan, the whole idea is that you DON'T HAVE TO wash and dry your litter pan every time you change the litter -- !!! I should have just sent it back, but I did try it on my Popur, which has a woven liner. It stained the liner and I have noticed absolutely no improvement in the clumps of litter that stick around the edges.
