I finally got it hooked up and it failed the get HOT. It came without a manual. I am a retired Electrician and Maintenance Tech so I knew how to install it. The dial on the front works like it is supposed to, but the water never got past 50 degrees, even on the 00 to 12 settings. It was a piece of JUNK.... Review: Best tankless system in this price range!! - Installed this on December 25th. (Self install) Pros: aesthetically pleasing, Easy to set temperature, produces very consistent water temps. High or low flow water stays at desired temp. I had previously purchased a cheaper unit elsewhere that would scald you at low flow output. That unit only lasted 4 months before the plastic housing cracked and leaked water for several hours before it was noticed. The Thermoflow is built much more solid with no plastic lines or housing. Fairly easy to install but had a few issues (see that below). Overall this is a quality product that is well designed. Cons and other stuff: Water inlet and outlet are positioned to the back of the unit. Had to utilize the included spacers and also had to buy elbows to adjust line direction to a downward position in order to hook up water lines to the unit. Electrical: Shoving 5 (this includes the ground line) lines into the cutout created a lot of frustration. To get them in and bend them into position was a pain. Please note this unit require #8 electrical lines. I used #8 from one breaker and #6 on the other because it was already installed in the panel and readily available (Breaker shut off and line capped in a junction box) to use for the tankless unit. The #8 was already ran to the hot water closet (obviously lol). I had enough trouble with getting all 5 wires through the cut out that I gave up and just cut the top of the hole out on the back part of the units case with a hacksaw. Once this was done, I was able to wire it without issue. The front cover of the unit covers this up completely and will never be seen with it on. Turning on the unit. Once I turned the water on, the unit filled up and immediately started leaking in two places that were pre-assembled. Once they were tightened, all was well. I then had a here goes nothing moment as I flipped the breakers. Running the unit: Here in Missouri, the outside air temps are currently in the low 30’s. The unit will deliver a nice hot shower without issue in these temps. I have the unit set at level 8 which is around a max temp of 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Blending in cool water doesn’t seem to be an issue either. However, I cannot run the shower and a sink at the same time. The water flow is too much for this unit at the current temps. As we get into Spring and Summer, I have no doubts it will perform per specifications. Unit has been installed and running for 9 days now. I will update this review in the months to come. Right now despite the install challenges, I still give this 5 stars. For less than $300 it almost seems like a bargain too good to be true. The steady temp flow system was the selling point for me. After the blunder of the other cheap unit, I did extensive research on tankless units in this price range which involved combing through reviews and comparing specs of many units from several manufacturers, and found this one to be a high end unit at a budget price. For as much as I paid for this heater, plus what I paid the electrician and plumber to install it. This thing is a piece of CRAP.
