I threw away old Esbit tabs when they yellowed and were hard to ignite by butane lighter.** A: Shelf life improves if the hexamine doesn't off gas when still packaged. Opened or poorly sealed tabs should be vacume sealed for best shelf life. Also, I never cook over hexamine, use it to dry tinder and fuel to start a wood fire for safer cooking. Never inhale the fumes. **Q: Do these stink as bad as the esbit tablets?** A: Hexamine stinks. They stink up all your gear too, even unopened. This seller claims to have solved the packaged odor issue, which should prevent gassing off and preserve fuel life indefinitely. I will buy, and try. When I have, I will review with the brand in the review so other folks can get the right ones if they are as odor free as claimed- until the package is opened, that is. I love that they are individually sealed though. No more drawing lots for who has to carry the remaining tabs from an opened box! **Q: How many grams does each tablet weigh?** A: The weight of each tablet is 14 grams and has a burning time of around 15 minutes. **Q: Will these fit on an esbit stove - in the inset?** A: Yes. I have not used them yet, but saw a YouTube video where the guy was reviewing these in an Esbit stove.
