## Description

Ernie Ball Classic Rock N Roll Slinky electric guitar strings are made from pure nickel wire wrapped around hex-shaped, high-carbon steel core wire. The plain strings are made of specially tempered tin plated high-carbon steel. Pure nickel electric guitar strings were the standard in much of the ‘50s and ‘60s and produce a warm, rich tone. Gauges .009, .011, .016, .024, .032, .042.

Review: THE BEST STRINGS I EVER PLAYED/HAD - Im an intermediate player, and have always had trouble with hand stamina ( applying pressure while playing for 10 minutes). And string bending/ pushing up an octave like the solo in hotel California? Yeah, forget it. I didn't know why I couldn't pull it off. Turns out I had thick disgusting strings. It's no wonder the legends were able to pull off amazing solos with this. It literally feels like heaven. So smooth, and soft to touch. They feel elegant. Yet, somehow they're very strong. I had wound them up wrong so I took them out and wound up again, no problem. The strings come with PLENTY of excess, and by plenty I mean at least 5" extra in case you have trouble or need to readjust. Tone is incredible. Warm yet clear, rich and complex. It does very much sound like a 70s rock band especially on a les Paul. And for the price of 7$? Kidding me? D'addario sells some strings for 20$+ where I live. Literally THE greatest strings I had. Absolutely give it a try if you're a newbie. They will ease your play and your fingers and sanity will thank you for it.

**Q: Why do these strings turn my fingers black ? Anybody else had this problem ?**
A: Have you seen a picture of SRV’s fingers? Permanently black/grey from playing. Probably the wear of the metal. Frets and strings wear out from play due to friction

**Q: What’s the difference between hybrid and regular strings?**
A: The difference is the string gauges.  
The 9-11-16-26-36-46 is considered a "hybrid gauge" set.  
It has the 9-11-16 of their "super" slinky sets and the 26-36-46 of their "regular" sets.  So it's a hybrid of the 9s and 10s.  Hope that helps!

**Q: Are these strings round or hex core?**
A: From the Ernie Ball website (do a search for 2253) they say this: "Made from pure nickel wire wrapped around tin plated hex shaped steel core wire, these guitar strings produce a warm rich tone with that signature Slinky feel. Gauges .009, .011, .016, .024w, .032, .042 " so according to Ernie Ball they are HEX CORE.

I picked Ernie Ball strings because a lot of people say they are good. This is the Rock and Roll strings and makes my strat sound good and classical. I didn't compare it to the regular Slinky strings so I can't say how good they are but a lot of people like the Ernie Ball strings. You should try them and you can't go wrong.
