I'm familiar with both miso flavors and I often have had the aka miso so I'm comfortable with its flavor profile. However, this time I was hoping to try Shiro Miso since it has been a long time so I ordered it. Bought my vegetables ahead of time so when it arrived, I was basically ready to make a bowl of soup right away.
