Works flawlessly through the app and with my Google Home. Setup is pretty easy, although it may be a little tricky for less techy people. Be careful if you use a 5GHz band Wi-Fi network as this bulb does not support that. You should be okay though, most 5GHz routers also broadcast a 2.4GHz network, so just disconnect your smartphone (or whatever device you're using to set up the bulb) from the 5GHz network, connect it to the 2.4GHz network (should be the same network name, just without the "5GHz" designation), set up the bulb, disconnect your phone/device from the 2.4GHz network and reconnect it to your 5GHz network. That is how I had to do it, and it doesn't hamper operation in any way, even with everything else in my home on the 5GHz network.To clarify one thing I was unsure of when buying, you can turn the light switch off and back on and the light does come on, although you have to give it a second or two between turning it off and back on. It does retain the most recent color setting when you do this (though it does default to plain white for like a half a second before it reverts back to the most recent color), and it does retain setup settings and reconnect to Wi-Fi very quickly (I'll say within 10 seconds or so).Some things to be aware of:1. Plain white is good and bright (comparable to 60w incandescent as advertised), but any other color, including "daylight", is very dim (uncomfortably so) even at max brightness. But I've never used any similar bulbs, so they may all be that way.2. Only basic colors are available via voice command. And some of those aren't really "spot on".. Yellow has a greenish tint and orange is more yellow. But if you need a more precise color you can always fine tune the color using the app. Here again, I've never used any other bulbs like this, so that might be how they all work.3. I've only had the bulb for a month or so, so I have no idea about longevity. I use mine every time I get home, so I'm hoping it lasts as long as a good quality LED bulb. If it craps out prematurely I'll update this review.Docked one star for dimness of colors (since that does decrease usefulness of the feature).Cheers! ### ⭐ Defective *by D***G on Reviewed in the United States on August 7, 2018* The package arrived damaged, and one of the four bulbs had something rattling around inside it. Still, the lights all came on when I flipped the switch. The problem is, I couldn't get any of them to connect to my WiFi network. I tried each bulb individually, made sure I was following the instructions correctly and that my WiFi was working. Still, nothing.
