It also holds my phone in the "viewing" mode well with a thick case on it. (Samsung S9).What is does NOT do well is stick to my dashboard. It came with a celophane protector on the back, to keep the "adhesive" surface clean. When I removed that to install in my car, I was expecting a tacky surface that would adhere to my dash. That's not what it was; it's just a clean, smooth surface. Wish this was more clear.
