## Description

This Bulb is great for replacing your standard 12V Halogen spotlight. Be aware that this product is suppossed to have quality Bridgelux LED's and not epistar or other alternative LED's (blue hue is indication that the LED's are not Bridgelux). The LED Bulb will direct light more accurate instead of spreading the light in any direction and the light seems amazing clean and deliberate compared to halogen or other traditional type bulb. It will last five times longer and are shock resistant. In case you drop the bulb it will likely still work. The bulb will not generate UV and only limited heat so you will avoid burns from touching the bulb. The bulb therefore will not melt your lighting fixture or discolor it. The bulb has a 45 degree spread (beam angle), warm white 3200K color temperature and 340 Lumen light output. This bulb have 4 high powered individual Bridgelux LED pieces. The light bulb will unfortunately not work in all 12V power sources and you may have to replace the transformer/adaptor main unit if it has a problem with low load (it may work if you leave one halogen bulb to carry some load). The bulbs application is perfect for home, restaurants, shops, office, etc. Also available in color temperatures cool white 7000K. The bulb is slightly taller than a standard Halogen.

I purchased these lights on three occasions and have zero failures on (25) running my 12VAC outdoor lighting. I pull tested the connector pins based on previous comments and had no movement or any other issues. The light color is not as warm as the 20W Halogen bulbs I replaced. Wouldn't want this color inside my house, but outside it looks great and isn't far off the Halogens warm color.These lights also fit into my existing $10 Plastic Malibu Spot Light fixtures by unplugging the Halogen bulb and removing the Malibu Reflector. $2.10/light is a great deal for replacement lights.These LED lights produce significantly less heat and should be more fire safe than traditional 20W or 50W lamps.Bulb to bulb consistency was excellent.Lumens seems similar to 35W Halogen, not a 50W replacement as is misstated in the product description.Shipping was reliable at about 2 weeks from China for all three of my purchases.No issues with either of my 300W Magnetic Transformers (using only these LED lights).Energy savings is huge moving from existing 20W - 50W Halogens, to just 4W.I initially purchased a single light to confirm quality and color with Prime 2 day shipping.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ nice but...

I bought this bulb for $10 back in Feb 2012, now it's $14.99.I like that it has light out the sides for my indoor, ceiling, down light fixtures, with glass shades. They're similar to regular incandescent MR16s in that respect. Haven't seen any other LED bulbs that do that.What I don't like is that its light has a slight green tint.Also, the pins on mine pushed in; however a couple spots of super glue works easily, without any waiting time.I agree that the brightness is similar to about a 30watt incandescent. Although that's hard to compare as the beam width varies a lot across MR16 bulbs.I'm now comparing this with the G7 MR16 at $13.99. The G7 has a lifetime warranty (assuming the company is around that long). I bought one of each to compare. (G7 Power is also on Amazon.)They have similar brighness. The G7 color is just about perfect - no green. but it doesn't have the light out the sides.If this bulb were still $10, I'd suffer the greenish tint. But at $1 more than the G7, it's a difficult decision...Update: I just found this same bulb (hopefully) on Amazon, from a different seller: "ledCREElight", for $8.99. Ordered x3. Be careful to check 1) wattage, 2) 3200k, 3) beam width. There are several combinations available. The lifetime warranty on the G7 is very attractive, and it's a nice bulb. But for $8.99, I'm going to go with these and keep my fingers crossed.Update 2: Received and installed three more from "ledCREElight"(Amazon). Just confirming that they are IDENTICAL to this item, but still only $8.99 each (4/29/12). Same color (slight green tint) but with All bulbs the same (no incandescent or other 'warm' LEDs in close proximity), the color difference isn't really noticeable. Even the box for these three was identical, too. Oh, one of the 3 came with a loose ring and lenses. A simple push and slight twist put it back together again. RE: the pins pushing in... It turns out that one of my lamp fixture sockets requires a tad more force to insert the bulb than the other sockets, so that's what was causing the pins to push in. Still, a dot of super glue does the trick.

### ⭐ A bad hotspot with a big variation in light color.

SEE THE PHOTO of my test results in the product photo gallery for a better understanding.I was quite hopeful for these bulbs. I have been trying to move almost exclusively to LED bulbs recently, and have been pleasantly surprised by the light quality and color of most of my purchases. This bulb surprised me, but not pleasantly.I am a photographer, so I have the equipment to test the light quality of these LED bulbs. In a word...horrible. I measured this bulb in a darkened room about 7 feet away from the light source.The color of the light at the very center is 3300k (close to the 3200k advertised), but moving 10 inches from the center and the light falls to 2700k-- That's a 600k change! The result is that the edges have a very yellow look and the hot spot looks very blue in comparison.Worse than that is the light fall off. In the same distance (10 inches)the amount of light drops by 8x! A hotspot like that defeats the purpose of having a 45 degree beam. In essence it is about a 10 degree beam of light with some spill.I can't think of condition that this bulb could be used in without the inconsistency of light and color becoming a problem (maybe behind a diffuser). I can live with a 2700k or 3300k bulb, and I can live with a bright bulb or one that is 8x less bright, but I can't live with a bulb that has all these qualities simultaneously.EDIT: The photos don't always appear in the product gallery for some reason.
