Some people said the stakes were plastic but mine were metal and were attached as one piece to the pole. Seems good quality to me. The polls are hollow, thin and very lightweight though, so probably not the most durable. I’m a very handy person but had a hard time attaching the torch to the pole at first because there are no instructions. There’s a white plastic piece inside the pole, which I thought I had to take out in order to insert the rubber piece on the torch into the pole since it wouldn’t fit the hole in the plastic piece. I tried everything and it was impossible to take those plastic pieces out. I was thinking I was going to have to return the product. But then, the rubber piece on the torch happened to fall off, which revealed the metal screw threads that we’re hiding under it which I would have not have known otherwise. Bingo! That’s what’s going on here. You don’t remove the white plastic piece. That’s what you screw the torch into after you remove the rubber piece off the threads. So simple.
