## Questions & Answers

**Q: I have a clicking sound that happens every 10 second or so. 2002 explorer with 6cd in deck. Any solution?**
A: I think the clicking could be the deck attempting to start a cd playing.

**Q: Is this the same as PXDX?**
A: It is as far as I can tell, but be sure to check that your system has an aux buttons that will allow you to switch directly to the device. Otherwise it will not work.

**Q: Does this need to be powered?**
A: I plugged mine into the CD changer harness, mine gets the power thru that harness... 01 vette

**Q: Does this device (PXDX) work with the A2D-355 Bluetooth module or do i need to buy a PXDP?**
A: I installed mine on a 1998 Cadillac ETC. The car did not come with an AUX port but I had the CD player in the trunk. This device connects between the cable from the radio, to the cd changer in the trunk. There is no Blue tooth option in this unit. For the purpose intended, this unit is fantastic.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐ Weird clicking sound
*by M***J on September 1, 2015*

First off, unlike what others have said, at least for my car, this unit was not "plug and play." The harness needed for my '06 Pontiac Vibe (standard harness for most GM vehicles) had to be spliced into an existing constant 12v power source to power the unit. With that said, you may need some novice electrical skills and a volt meter handy. Once I finally found my power source and got the unit hooked up, upon testing it out I discovered an almost rhythmic clicking sound protruding from my speakers. As I turned the volume up, so did the volume of the sound. Even with no music source plugged it, still the clicking sound. Almost sounds like electrical static coming from the unit. The clicking sound aside, the volume difference is also an issue. Even with my iPod on full volume, I need to crack my radio up to even hear anything. Be careful when switching back to radio as the volume may be VERY loud. I've contacted Amazon, and they are sending a new unit. I'll update once that arrives.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent solution to upgrade my old car stereo, easy to install
*by K***K on August 30, 2012*

This is 1 part of an excellent solution provided by PAC, and supported by the company in Florida by telephone. I was shocked when they picked up and answered a couple quick questions I had. It was like the old days, excellent customer service.Special Note - Don't forget to order the appropriate wiring harness in addition to this interface. It will save you an enormous amount of time and effort.I purchased this product to replace the remote CD Changer in a 1999 Cadillac Seville STS so that an iPod or Android Smartphone could be used to send music through the factory installed BOSE system. Having both this interface and the appropriate wiring harness, I simply removed the CD Changer that was located in the console glove box, and connected this harness to the plug previously attached to the CD Changer. The other side of the harness attached to the PAC PXDX interface. The whole installation was easy in this Cadillac, and took about 20 minutes.Keep in mind you are converting the music source from 6-disk CD Changer to another device like iPhone, iPod or Android device. When you install this system, it renders the 6-disk CD player inoperable, so I removed it from the car. Also note, the existing system in the 1999 Cadillac was a factory installed, in dash BOSE AM/FM Cassette & CD Player System, with an optional 6-CD Changer located in the console glove box (not the dash glove box). Only 2 screws holding the CD changer in place, plenty of room to mount the interface and this pigtail in the console. The whole point of the installation was to play music through the factory Bose system in the car with an iPod or Android SmartPhone. Tested with Samsung Galaxy III, with the Android PowerAmp application. On the Bose system, I simply selected the "CD Changer" (not the CD Player which is in the dash). After allowing the Bose system to find the interface the first time only, it kicked into gear and started playing music from the smartphone. Using the smartphone, the sound quality is better than the CD player ever was, and it brings the Bose System to life.I used this same system in a 2004 Chevy Silverado Truck several years ago, and it's still working there too. Highly recommend.

### ⭐⭐ Does not fit certain 2003 Lincoln Town Cars
*by R***B on February 14, 2016*

I was disappointed to find out that this unit does not form with my car even though it was listed as compatible. I was planning on putting this in my 2003 Lincoln Town Car (Cartier L edition). When i removed the factory radio and disconnected the CD changer harness it was a completely different plug than the vehicles specific harness that I bought with this product. I also unplugged all of the other connectors on the back of the head unit just to make sure I want trying to use the wrong connector, and it didn't match any of them. After doing some extensive research online i found out that this model car was manufactured with 2 different sets of radio harnesses. This unit will only work with the plugs that are black and red in color. My car has grey plugs which are completely different in shape and size. So if you are planning on installing this adapter in the same model car I suggest that you remove your radio before hand and make sure that you have the black and red plugs in the back of your radio. I hope that the description for this product includes this update in the future so anwith else doesn't get disappointed like i did. Unfortunately they don't make a different harnessed to fit these newer versions of these plus so it seems that i will be stuck with having to use an FM modulated device which will inevitably have sub par audio quality. I hope that this review is helpful other customers that would like to add an aux input to their town car. I will updated my post should i find a work around for this issue. Thanks for reading and good luck.
