Never fired up. The unit is well built, I'm guessing something occurred in shipping. Second one came, fired right up. Exceptional quality of customer service and the unit is the best I've owned. Heats extremely well, pump is more than adequate for the power output. Fan is huge flow. I'm hearing a 1500 cubic foot space around 200 square feet. I'm sure at 10-15 degrees fahrenheit outside this is more than adequate.
