At £8.99 it is definitely value for my money as it does what it is intended to do. There's a valve hole on the base. While in use after filling, you need to press on the valve otherwise the water would leak out of the bottle. Do this until you're ready to let the water out via the rigid tube. You could get over this by taking a separate container of water and filling the Peri bottle from that when you're ready to use.
