Review: Bought this TV in 48” size to pair with my PS5 Pro in a small office room and can say it’s an excellent match. TV has VRR which auto detects the signal when available and the visuals are incredibly vibrant being an OLED screen. Streaming TV shows and film in 4K with either Dolby Vision or HDR10+ (tv supports both formats) is also a great experience - the visuals in Dolby Vision HDR content especially are perfect on this TV. No native Apple TV app, but plugging in a Fire TV 4K Max stick solved this issue. Ambilight syncs LEDs on back of panel with the colours displayed on screen and can easily be disabled if unwanted. Can’t comment much on the speakers as I mostly use headphones. Overall no regrets buying this model, historically gone with Samsungs, but this Philipps TV delivers the goods and is a great quality OLED panel for console gaming and watching 4K HDR content.

Bought this TV in 48” size to pair with my PS5 Pro in a small office room and can say it’s an excellent match. TV has VRR which auto detects the signal when available and the visuals are incredibly vibrant being an OLED screen. Streaming TV shows and film in 4K with either Dolby Vision or HDR10+ (tv supports both formats) is also a great experience - the visuals in Dolby Vision HDR content especially are perfect on this TV. Tja was soll ich sagen, der OLED Hype der letzten Zeit hat mich auch erfasst und ich habe meinen 43 Zoll Philips aus 2022 gegen diesen hier ausgetauscht. Das alte Gerät war ein LCD mit Ambilight und GoogleTV. Abgesehen davon, dass der ziemlich langsam war und die Bildqualität eher mittelmäßig, hat er mir treue Dienste geleistet (und wird das nun in einem anderen Raum weiterhin tun). Ich hatte die Hoffnung, dass der 48OLED759 meine ganzen Kritikpunkte des alten, eher günstigen, Modells behebt und ein dickes Plus an Bildqualität mit sich bringt. Das hat sich nur teilweise erfüllt, bzw. ist ins negative gerutscht. SAT Empfang: Das Umschalten zwischen den einzelnen Sendern geht sehr schnell, genauso schnell wie meine alter 30€ SAT Receiver aus 2019 - hier hat Philips ganze Arbeit geleistet. Nun das gewaltige ABER: Die Bildqualität ist deutlich schlechter geworden! Es fällt primär dann auf wenn man ein SD Signal empfängt, ich habe an diese Rezension zwei Fotos gepackt, eines mit dem alten SAT Receiver und eines mit dem Philips... die Buchstaben wirken hart überschärft und damit deutlich schlechter lesbar. Ich habe versucht das mit Einstellungen im Menü irgendwie in den Griff zu bekommen, keine Chance. Mein Gefühl ist, dass auch HD Signale die über Satellit kommen vom TV schlechter dargestellt werden. Für mich ein extremer Minuspunkt. Man muss fairerweise sagen, dass mein 2022er Philips sich hier auch nicht mit Rum bekleckert hat, er hat viel langsamer umgeschaltet (aber dafür war die Bildqualität besser). Streaming: Beim Streaming ist die Bildqualität deutlich besser, hier sehe ich erstmal, dass dieser OLED Fernseher besser ist als das 3 Jahre alte, und halb so teure, Philips Gerät das ich vorher hatte. Ich möchte eine Sache hier hervorheben da es mir so vorher nicht ersichtlich war: Es gibt KEINE RTL+ App! (Stand 03/2025) Was mich auch stört, in der "Home Übersicht" kommt es manchmal zu Bugs. Man muss sich die Apps neu anordnen, dann sind die Lieblingsapps komplett verschwunden und es ist sporadisch nicht möglich zwischen "Startseite", "Sender" und "Apps" zu wechseln (erst nach einem vollständigen Neustart, also Stecker ziehen). Neben den üblichen Apps die man erwartet, Netflix, Disney+, PrimeVideo, Youtube, Joyn, etc., existieren auch manche die mich verwirren wie etwa "Pastewka". Klickt man auf diese drauf in erwartung Content des Comedian Bastian Pastewka zu sehen, erhält man eine Fehlermeldung "Seite konnte nicht geladen werden". Auch hier geht der Punkt an meinen alten 2022er Philips... das dort vorhandene AndroidTV war zwar langsam, aber zuverlässig und sehr gut zu erweitern. Medienwiedergabe: Ich habe zahlreiche, primär selbst gedrehte, Videos die ich auf einer externen Festplatte habe in unterschiedlichen Formaten. Angefangen bei AVIs die entstanden mit einer alten Canon Kompaktkamera in den 2000ern über Videos vom Smartphone im MP4 Format bis hin zu MKVs von einer modernen Kamera, es ist eine bunte Mischung unterschiedlichster Qualität und Codecs. Alles was halbwegs modern ist, also grob ab 2012 entstanden, wird auch ordentlich und in guter Qualität wiedergegeben, nichts auszusetzen. Sobald es ältere Aufnahmen sind wird es gruselig. Vormals halbwegs flüssige Videos die mit konstant 30 fps aufgenommen wurden, laufen nun für etwa 1 Sekunde superflüssig, stocken dann für 0,1 Sekunde und es geht flüssig weiter - für 1 Sekunde - bis es wieder kurz stockt. Das betrifft nur die Videospur, der Ton ist davon nicht betroffen. Was aber auffällt ist, dass die Klangqualität unterirdisch ist. Ich habe es sowohl über meinen Yamaha AVR als auch über recht gute Kopfhörer probiert und es war vernichtend schlechter Klang. Alles hörte sich blechern an. Ich habe keine Ahnung wieso Philips ein digitales Signal aus einem Video nimmt, die Tiefen reduziert und die Höhen steigert und das dann via HDMI Arc an den AVR schickt. Eine Option das anzupassen habe ich nicht gefunden. Wie gesagt, das betrifft, so weit ich es sehen kann, nur ältere Aufnahmen, aber mich macht das extrem unglücklich. Die Tatsache, dass der Fernseher sporadisch die Medienwiedergabe öffnet wenn man eine Festplatte angeschlossen lässt macht es nicht besser. All diese Kritikpunkte haben bei dem 2022er Philips nicht existiert. Allgemeines: Nach so viel Kritik, kommt auch noch was positives? Zunächst einmal muss ich noch etwas nachlegen das jedem bewusst sein sollte der sich so einen OLED kauft: Es gibt Funktionen welche dafür sorgen, dass der OLED in einem guten Zustand bleibt. Ein Teil davon bleibt nahezu unbemerkt, etwa das verdunkeln von statischen Bildinhalten oder auch das verschieben von Pixeln. Was sich aber sehr wohl bemerkbar machen kann, ist die Bildschirm "Reinigung" nach der Verwendung. Ist der Fernseher eine ganze Weile angeschaltet (und verbraucht dabei so grob 80w) und wird dann ausgeschaltet, fängt er im Hintergrund an mit dieser Care Funktion. Hierbei verbraucht er noch etwa 40w für einige Minuten und lässt sich jederzeit auch wieder einschalten. Das doofe für mich ist; Ich habe eine Mehrfachsteckerleiste welche reagiert auf den Stromverbrauch eines Master Gerätes und damit den AVR anschaltet. Die Empfindlichkeit liegt grob bei 10w, schalte ich den Fernseher ein geht auch immer direkt der AVR an und wird er in den Standby versetzt geht er aus. So war es früher... ich könnte gut damit leben wenn der AVR einfach noch ein paar Minuten nachläuft. Womit ich nicht gut leben kann ist, dass der Fernseher sich sporadisch Stunden später einfach entschließt das Display zu reinigen und den AVR anwirft. Das überaus kraftvolle KLICK der Relais in diesem hat mich in der Nacht schon geweckt. Wir fassen also zusammen; Dieser Fernseher eignet sich nicht für jemanden der SD Inhalte konsumieren möchte, eine Satelittenschüssel direkt anschließen will und wert legt auf umfangreiche App unterstützung. Auf der positiven Seite steht die typisch gute OLED Bildqualität mit tollen Schwarzwerten (und vielleicht einem etwas rotstichtigem Bild), eine sehr gelungene Verarbeitung und natürlich Ambilight. Wenn man einen externen Zuspieler hat sind viele meiner Kritikpunkte entschärft, aber wo findet man einen intuitiv bedienbaren SAT Recveiver mit AndroidTV? Ich werde meine Suche nach einem solchen nun verstärken... oder muss mich am Ende dann doch fragen: Sind all die Probleme mir die Kombination von OLED und Ambilight überhaupt wert? Tendenz geht in Richtung Nein und Retoure... was eigentlich extrem bedauerlich ist.
