Most portable AC units have serious condensation problems only cured in humid climates by attaching a hose to the rear middle of the unit. Unfortunately you cannot attach this hose and get it up and out a window without a pump of some kind. Get a 3 foot section of garden hose, plug it straight into one of four provided hose holes in this unit and then run the 5/8 flexible tubing out your window and away from your siding and it will near silently pump out condensate. I live in eastern Canada and humidity here is 60-90 percent during the summer and the units cannot keep up without a way to drain out all that condensation. Not having a pump can lead to leaking into your flooring or carpet and cause major damage. Adding this pump to a floor AC unit dropped my humidity by 30% and its not flooding my floor anymore.
