I had a little trouble at first setting it up because I didn't realize you have to actually press the button on the collar to turn it on before anything works, duh. Our dog ignores the beeper, but the vibration mode really gets her attention. She immediately runs to find me...it's like a little recall system. We live on several acres so that's just awesome. Have never used the shock mode, never needed it.
