When I received my De'Longhi machine, I soon discovered that it was a US import, and required a 110 - 120 V AC input; so plugging it into an Indian 220 - 230 V AC supply would fatally damage it (burn out the wiring). The only way out would be to get a suitable step down transformer (220 to 110 V AC) BUT it would need to handle a big load - you need about 1,200 Watts minimum to run the machine. Since Watts = Volts x Amperes, the transformer has to be capable of dealing with the rather big current (amperage) required. You can buy these transformers, but they are bulky and cost several thousand rupees - do not be fooled into buying those cheap ones which can only cope with small gadgets requiring minimal power (amperes). Personally, I cannot understand why the importers did not source from the UK or EU (and De'Longhi is an Italian make) - all countries there have 220 - 240 V supplies which work fine in India, even if the plugs are slightly different. This voltage problem was not even mentioned in the instruction manual I received with my machine, and a quick search for suitable transformers soon disillusioned me; I had to return my machine in disgust. **Q: Is it 220v** A: 120V! **Q: Does it work at 240 volt?** A: Nope.....use step up converter....110 v to 220v.... **Q: Is this machine is helpful for small cafe** A: Never got to use it.. came damanged.. now they say it doesnt have warranty in India.
