The casing is a translucent off-white plastic, and the "flickering flame" is a warm white (not a bluish white), but not the golden color of a real flame. The lights are a hybrid size: they are taller than tea lights, but not as tall as votive candles. If one really needs a "tea light" height light, these are not the ones for you, because they are taller than regular tea lights. Although these do not look really fake, they do not look real. So if one wants to have these lights appear as "real" as possible, I would suggest that they be put in a location or holders that do not directly display the casing or the flame - for example, above eye level as on a mantle or in a holder that camouflages or distracts from the lights themelves. The on-off switch is easy to use. The price is good. Because these are very nice lights, but not fabulous lights, I have given them four stars. Also, as I just received these lights, I cannot yet comment on how long the batteries last or the over all durability of the lights. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Be sure to add the timer and remote features to order. *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2019* Description was that they were remote controlle and timer function was in them. . Ordered white and got amber and no remote or timer feature. Too late to return and not worth the hassle. I need them for a big outdoor under a tent party. I was going to use in mason jars but will be a pain to get them out to turn on and off. Thought the remote would eliminate that. I will have to find shallower containers soon.
