For example - at the correct position on the widest of my ties (6cm), the bar (at 5.6cm) doesn't go all the way across the tie, but that's about as long as I'd want it. Any longer and the bar would be too long for me. But as I say, this one is pretty much perfect. If I was being picky, I'd want the bar to be closer to 5cm, but I can live with 5.6. Holds well, especially when gripping the tie, its narrow half, and my shirt - no problems with slippage or anything like that.
