I only turn it on when needed for high power tasks, since it makes some moderate rattling noise and moderate vibrations, and at full speed I get too much of the wind on my forearms. And for the short time periods of a few minutes a day when I really need it to keep my notebook cool, I can handle the rattling and vibration.
