I seem to use it for just about everything. Low heat is a good boil. I haven't needed to go to high heat yet, but feel confident it will sear my chicken for tomorrow very easily. Don't see myself doing rice or anything that needs to sit in low to med-low heat. It cooks 1 lb ground meat + 1 can of beans with liquid, tomato paste and almost an additional cup of water. No spillage and lid worked well. Used turmeric and the cream lid did retain a bit of color but it did is job! Innards were SUPER easy to wipe or carefully rinse. My only complaint is that plug would be more useful on left side for us right handers. You needs to paid attention to the amount of water you use because the pot cook verywell that using less can when you need to can cut you cooking cuz it had less water to evaporate.
