I cannot ascertain exactly what magnification is produced by this magnifying glass, but in this layman's estimation, it is not even two-times. For the price & the hassle of a return, I think I will keep it. It will serve it's intended purpose adequately.For what it is, it seems that it will hold up fairly well as an occasional "aid" for aging vision.
