The problem is they literally don’t stay up yet are the correct length. I marked down 3 stars because they are too loose in the waist. A full drawstring going thru the entire waist would have been a better option in my opinion. My mother is an excellent sewer and will be adding one so they’ll stop slipping down. I was going to return these but my son asked me not to. The fake front drawstring they added was pointless, cinches the font side of pant in a tiny bit but doesn’t hold the pants up at all. My son was walking normal and they completely fell off his hips. He is very slender so we’ll be fixing these for him. If your child has an average sized waist or husky build this will probably fit him fine. Not so great for a petite child. They seem well made and I wish I could give these 5 stars but having to replace the fake drawstring is a deal breaker. I also think they breath well on hot days which is super nice since the spf clothing that is meant for the water aren't great for other activities. These are not for getting wet, but more for wearing on hikes or playing outside without wanting to cover your kiddo from head to toe in sunscreen. They work! We spent 3+ hours in the Colorado sun while playing at the river and there my son did not come home with a sunburn. the drawstring is just for show/appearance they are not functional unfortunately. I have purchased several items in different sizes for my son.
