There are little rivets that come with the pinwheels. When I put them on the wire I left a little room around the pinwheels so they were free to spin. If you put the rivets to tight it will restrict the spin. **Q: What is the Length of the wire?** A: 1180 Inch steel wire covered by plastic, **Q: Can you please send me instructions- package arrived without any and need these for a party fast!** A: Mine also did not come with any direction. If you go to the picture in the listing and scroll through them there is a pic with an illustration how to assemble the pinwheels. It’s honestly not hard once you figure It out. The 2 plastic pieces go in the middle....you have to separate each plastic pair....put one piece in....bring in the four corners then attach the other plastic piece to lock in place. When you string them you’ll want 2 metal locking pieces in each side of pinwheel to hold them in place. I used pliers to squeeze the metal to stay in place on wire. Hope this helps! **Q: Is it waterproof?** A: They are plastic. I have mine stuck in the ground outside. Using them as centerpieces and gifts! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Adorable *by E***D on March 8, 2026* 4/5 stars just because these are meant for the ground and unless your yard is soggy like mine after the 4 days straight of rain you will struggle (no stake). Even I struggled in some spots with soggy ground. You must insert slowly especially if you have clay soil like me. I only had 1 that didn’t spin out of the rows I added to the yard today. It was due to the connector piece. I didn’t count the pieces, but there were many. I will say the assembly is quite annoying, but it protects the pieces for shipping. I’d rather put them together myself than have bent windmills. The instructions were helpful, but I found it easier to put the piece through one hole at a time. The little connector piece that you separate will get in the way and must go through each hole first. I decided to use these to map out my in-ground garden plants this year. In previous years, I used green flags that had wire stems. While I hate the excessive plastic it will be nice to not have rusty metal throughout my garden and shredded flags. This will help my husband and I avoid the plants during regular yard maintenance. I feel like they’re very pleasing visually in comparison to the previous options I’ve seen in a not so overstimulating manner, but if you’re looking for them you will not miss them. Once the plants grow I anticipate that they’ll blend in a lot more than in the bare yard. For now they add a cute pop of color. I have a bird feeder near and they do not seem to bother the birds. I just put them out and the birds are at the feeder with a robin sitting right next to all the spinning windmills. I love that the tops are removable. I can move colors if something isn’t sitting right without pulling the whole straw from the ground.
