As other reviewers have said, the sound quality is very good but, as a fan of the programme, both sound & vision, I was bitterly disappointed at the frequent cropping short of sentences, and editing of musical interludes & endings. Listening to these on Radio 4 Extra there are no interruptions of this type in any programme, and they are a joy to listen to - that is why I bought these.  It totally ruins the entertainment for me. Why do they have to do this - for the sake of saving a few minutes, or political correctness ?

The radio version of Dad's Army, in my opinion, is at least equal to the TV show, and makes great listening. The sound quality is excellent throughout and you get 20 episodes in the box set, making it very good value for money. The only thing missing is a list of the episodes, though each one's title is announced before it begins. The box set is a must for all Dad's Army fans.
