## Description

Review: Nice, solid, functional desk. - I had purchased a similar style desk for about $275, but decided that it just felt and looked cheap, so I gave it away. This Sauder desk was quite a bit more at about $650, but I had built a Sauder file cabinet in the recent past and was impressed by the structure. The desk matched that experience. It is very, very heavy with a good, solid feel. Everything was there and undamaged in the shipping boxes. I made sure I was right there with a dolly so the FedEx guy couldn’t drop it out off the truck, which is where I am guessing most of the damage that people report occurs. The two boxes are each fantastically heavy. It IS particle board with a thin (very thin) cherry veneer, so you have to be careful to not scratch it during assembly (or ever, I suppose). I do not think that veneer is wood, but more of a printed paper bonded to the surface. It’s fine looking from 5’, but certainly not “fine furniture”. I got rid of the keyboard tray structure as it was a bit narrow and forced you to sit perpendicular to an edge, instead of at a 45 degree angle. The tray is non structural, so I don’t think the top is any weaker as a result I am satisfied with the purchase so far. Be sure to allocate the better part of an afternoon for assembly.

We (the wife and me) opened up the first carton and then proceeded to carry a few boards at a time up to my second floor office. There are a LOT of pieces! So after taking a break after getting all the pieces upstairs we began the daunting task of putting this beast together. There are many steps involved and not all the pieces were marked appropriately. Even the manual that came with the desk at one point stated: Don't worry, this isn't Rome. It can be built in a day. Well maybe it could be built by someone who put these things together full-time but it took us an entire weekend (and I'm normally rather handy at building things like these). The end result is totally worth it though. I was refurnishing my office and this desk, along with the matching bookshelf and filing cabinet, completed the look I was going for: Form, function, style. One tip though: Do NOT use a cordless drill as you will strip the compressed wood (which is what this desk is made from). Use a screwdriver. It also helps to have a buddy with the final stages as connecting the two pieces of the "L" would be very difficult with just one person. Overall, I'm satisfied with the quality, look, and price of this piece and glad I bought it.

A: The Sauder 420606 Palladia L-Desk requires complete assembly. Easy to follow step by step instructions are included.

**Q: can you use the desk hutch with the L shaped desk**
A: The desk hutch "Sauder 412308" can be used, but it is 45" tall x 63 !/4" wide. This is the match for the desk. In all you will be 74 5/8" tall. Make sure you do your measurements. The hutch is designed to sit on top of the desk.

**Q: What is the length of the two deck sections?**
A: The left side is 68 1/8" long and the right is 68 3/4"

**Q: Can you put return on either side or does it have to go in the right side?**
A: The only section of the Sauder Palladia L-Desk that can be customized is the keyboard drawer. The keyboard can be attached to the right or left side of the desk.

I had purchased a similar style desk for about $275, but decided that it just felt and looked cheap, so I gave it away. This Sauder desk was quite a bit more at about $650, but I had built a Sauder file cabinet in the recent past and was impressed by the structure. The desk matched that experience. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good office furniture for the price.

Decent quality for the price! Took some time to put together. Highly recommend two people. We ordered the l-shaped desk, two drawer and three bookcases. It took us and our adult son a full day to put everything together. It does chip fairly easily but, honestly, I expect that with particle wood furniture. Looks great in our space! If you are looking for decently priced home office furniture, I say go for it! Just remember you aren’t buying Haverty or Ethan Allen.
