I have tried to MAKE my own wreath form in the past and it was nightmare compared to this easy piece!The process to make the succulent wreath only took a couple hours to do, and it is not too complex (thanks to this wreath form)!1. Gather some cuttings about a week beforehand. I cut about 100 (small and large) from around the yard.2. You should make sure your cuttings are beginning to root, or at least will want to root soon.3. Soak the wreath in water (I added succulent food in the water) for a few minutes. Once fully soaked, gently squeeze out excess water and place it on a large plastic drop cloth/tarp.4. Poke a hole (I used an old pencil) where you want your succulent cutting to be inserted. Gently push your cutting into the hole. If it needs additional support (most of mine did), use floral pins (FloraCraft 300 Piece Floral Pins, 1.75") to keep them secured in place. Repeat this process for ALL of your succulent cuttings until the wreath is filled up. I don't just work one direction when placing them, I like to fill from 4 corners and slowly each direction.5. Once all the cuttings are placed - DO NOT HANG ON YOUR DOOR YET! Let the succies root!!! I waited 2 1/2 weeks, leaving the wreath on a patio table in the warm shade, then gently watered the backside of the wreath with a hose before hanging up the wreath on the door.6. To water, either lay it down on a patio table overnight with crushed ice crumbled around the succulents, or dip entire wreath into water (or hose the back of the wreath), then let drip dry overnight on a patio table. :)***One thing I would change/warn - the metal frame for this wreath is not stainless steel so it WILL rust! No plants included, but hey... that was part of the description! Β―\_(ツ)_/Β―I used a pair of small scissors to make holes big enough for the succulents I was using. If you're using a bunch of short stemmed succulents or recent props, then you'll also needs to buy some pins to keep your plants in place until they develop enough roots.Someone else put in their rating that it rusts - this is true. If you plan on hanging it on a door or laying it on a table as a centerpiece with candles in the middle, then take their advice and add a felt backing.I live in a dry climate and it seems to dry out pretty quickly, so be prepared to soak it at least twice a week until your succulents are mature. Recently I bought the 12” wreath and though the box was not damaged, the product was so warped the wreath rocked side-to-side when put on a flat surface.The replacement came super fast and when I opened the package, the wire frame of the product was so bent it was warped into an oval.Quite frustrated.
