I wanted it to work. It has a nice fit and finish, and is one of very few thumbprint locks available. It wanted to work. It beeped a lot- even in the box after it was deleted (hopefully) and packed for return- and it even worked a few times.Locks, however, are devices that need to be trustworthy. This product is a fail for now. I hope to see something like it that works well. Buyers- read the reviews on these. Look for over 4 stars. A malfunctioning lock is a bad thing. I had to cut mine off my gate with bolt cutters ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works good with DRY hands *by on Reviewed in the United States December 12, 2018* I was hesitant to purchase this based on controversial reviews, but I am glad I decided to try.The lock stores up to 10 fingerprints, so theoretically (although I don't know why) you can set it up for up to 10 users.Of course it will not read your fingerprint when your hands are wet or after soaked in water for some time (swimming/shower/bath). However I have realistic expectations and no fingerprint readers that I have tried so far (the ones in the 24hrs gym, on my laptop or on cellphone) were able to overcome that problem as of now (2018).If your hands are dry, the lock opens up really fast. I have a friend whose fingerprints are so vague, she is unable to use them even for government purposes (and that is a real problem - poor her). I guess that people have fingerprints of different "clarity" (depending on how easy it is to read), mine are good in that respect and for me (and my hubbie too btw) the lock opens up right away in 99% of cases.I expect the lock to not open that good after "water procedures" like washing the dishes, I will update later on it.One cool thing about the lock is that you can place your finger at any angle and the software will still read the fingerprint. The software algorithm understands that the picture has to be rotated, which assumes a descent amount of built-in intelligence.
