Unlike other paints do not wet sand before applying clearcoat, you will disrupt the metal flakes. I waited 3 days before applying the clearcoat. I used Spraymax 2K clearcoat. Considering I'm a novice, it turned out really good.

**Q: Can or should clear coat be applied over this mettalic silver paint ?**
A: Yes clear coat can be applied and will provide a higher gloss and more durable finish.

**Q: Can I use this on a golf cart?**
A: I painted a 26" bicycle frame and to make it look good I used three I can of silver for a base coat and used three cans of the color coat and covered with 2 part clear came out nice but was expensive.

**Q: Seller, is your "metal specks" enamel, laquer, or something else? and why don't you clearly indicate it on this page? how about your "metal cast"?**
A: Metalspeck is thicker than the metal cast, metal cast is a good blender but is almost transparent. Metalspeck is a finisher, use it as a final layer to get the glitter type shine before clear coating. Most all duplicolor are acrylic lacquer, if it were enamel it would probably have that in bold, as enamel is much pricier of a paint :)

**Q: What is the best primer (spray can) to use with the dupli-color spray paints?**
A: Any like primer will do. Do not sand primer with anything more than 220 grit or paint does not stick well to primer. I used dupli color primer.

I'm pretty pleased with this paint, especially considering it's a rattle can. I was curious about the results using different base colors. I did a quick test using identical pieces, one primed flat black and another unprimed with its original beige color. The black primed piece is on the left. For my purposes, I sort of like the beige base better but honestly, with a second coat it isn't likely to make a huge difference. The coverage is good and it seemed to exit the can evenly. No runs, no uneven bursts. I applied it outdoors in low humidity, temps around 65-70°F, on an overcast afternoon with no breeze. I also bought a can of the green to try. After good results with the red I'm optimistic about this product in other colors for my needs.
