Review: Immunity to onions! - This product is great, I can finally chop onions very quickly and tear free. Looking at the space between the two blades, I thought this product would not be able to achieve a fine mince, but after pulling the handle at least 30-40 times, I was left with a whole onion that had been finely minced which would take me a lot longer if done with a knife - impressive! It can even handle hard items including nuts. Though you always get a few pieces that are a big larger than the rest, this is still extremely effective in chopping. The rubber ring at the bottom is very effective at anchoring the item to the worktop while you pull the handle. The whole unit is very easy to clean and the blades are extremely sharp so care must be taken when handling for cleaning. Considering this item has the Tefal brand, I would have expected the clear plastic container part to be slightly more study, though. I find myself incorporating onions for flavour into dishes a lot more than before because of the ease of chopping them with this device. There are cheaper options available in various physical stores that do the same thing and I can't yet comment on the durability of this product, as I know products like this tend to have the string wear out, but for now this seems like a very good item and one that I use regularly.
Review: Great for making life easier - It makes the tedious job of chopping onions far easier on my sensitive eyes and my sanity, and is great for people like me who don't have Gordon Ramsay level knife skills or just want to make life a bit easier - I imagine it would be IDEAL for people who are older and/or differently abled. Very safe and grips to the worktop easily, very easy to use with the pull cord, very fast chopping. Does a whole average sized onion in one pot (you do have to quarter it first), and 1 or 2 carrots at a time depending on size (again chopped into quarters so it fits in), so the size is decent - not so big it's taking up loads of cupboard space, but big enough to fit a decent amount of vegetables in it. I love it, would recommend it, my only teeny tiny gripe is that the lid isn't dishwasher safe. It makes sense because of the fabric string and the hole for the string mechanism - water WILL get inside, take it from someone who made that mistake and had to shake all the water out - but the bottom and blades are dishwasher safe, just give the top a good wipe - don't submerge if washing up!

**Q: Would this be good to purée baby food? I’ll be weaning soon**
A: It's more designed for chopping not pureed food in my view.  A blender or blender stick would be more suitable I think for your needs.

**Q: Does the 500ml version ofv this cut up a large onion in one go or should I get the bigger version?**
A: I have the 900ml version and haven't tried a large onion withough cutting it at least in half first. It might do it but as the blades need to spin fast to chop putting something that big in will stop them spinning easily so I always just peel and quarter an onion before putting it in to chop

**Q: is this dish washer safe?**
A: I tried dish washer once. 
The top fills with water from where the string is pulled. That will be a long term problem and erode the strength and potentially break the string. I find it very easy to give a quick rinse under the tap once used, takes under a minute to clean it.

**Q: Can you use this to blend cooked vegetables and lentils as a soup?**
A: I have never used it for that purpose as its capacity is not large enough. I use it mainly to chop herbs, onions, garlic, tomatoes etc

This product is great, I can finally chop onions very quickly and tear free. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent to use- with caution

This is a fantastic bit of kit. I have a food processor, but it’s such a faff to clean I don’t use it that much, so this little chopper is brilliant for quickly preparing nutritious food. It chops your five a day and herbs in a flash. Be warned though, the blades are vicious I’d nearly had the top of my finger off just washing it ready to use. The blades swing round and the top of the blade is just a little bit short for larger fingers to keep away from the blades as they move with brushing. All round though, I’m well impressed!
