My sprinkler guy recommended this over the one his supplier gets because it was, according to him, the same specs but was $200 cheaper as well as quieter. I have had it for a week and have run it daily, some days all day long. It is much quieter than my last motor, puts out the same power, and has run well so far. At first I thought I had a problem. Kept losing prime. Did find that the drain plug was leaking a little. Taped that up and reinstalled. Leak was gone but loss of prime continued. Could not find any other leaks. However, a little logic suggested that the problem could be somewhere other than in my new pump. This is a shallow well, so I pulled the suction pipe up. Found some trash in the foot valve. Seemed odd since I'd never had such before. Wonder if this might have been debris settled from the new pump. Debris from the manufacturing process. Can't say for sure. Replaced the foot valve and the problem of losing prime was gone. After long idle periods (a week or two) the pump now begins to pump water immediately when turned on. The volume actually seems to be better than the old one. Very happy with my new pump.
