Review: Good chocolate with best heavy metals - The taste of Ghirardelli is legendary. Just recently a study found chocolate bars to be chock full of heavy metals. However, Ghirardelli 72% and 86% were among the few that had the least amount. Why should any have such percentages of heavy metals I don't know. It seems just about everything we eat is loaded with toxins. Maybe has been for a long, long time. I don't know. I do know Ghirardelli makes the best tasting and I do know that I love their bars, so I will continue to buy and enjoy them, albeit in moderation. Moderation in all things, said the philosopher. I agree. Aside from the chocolate itself, one thing bugs me. It seems to me that Ghirardelli bars used to be sold by desertcart. After the Consumer Reports article, I could not find them for sale on desertcart. But some stuff not sold by desertcart can nevertheless be purchased thru desertcart. This was the case with Ghirardelli after the CR report. Last time I ordered, I got them from some mystery supplier, and the 6 bars were held together by a factory installed chocolate box. This time they were just bundled in brown paper and stuffed in a box. Should I be worried? Could they be counterfeit rife with toxic metals? On neither occasion did they come from desertcart. So what assurance do I have they they are even Ghirardelli? They could be some other brand in Ghirardelli wrappers. Perhaps desertcart should explain why Ghirardelli is no longer directly available from desertcart. Or was it ever? It seems to me that once upon a time I could order and as with other brands, get delivery within a few dats. It took 3 weeks this time. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I've tried all of the 85% and up brands of dark chocolate....

And, I've read many of the reviews of these and was rather entertained by the vividly succinct feelings about dark chocolate. It seems that it's nearly a religious experience for some. Wow. I had no idea. Anyway, I have usually always bought these at one of the many grocers I frequent (and I include Target and Walmart in that generalized statement, even though that's only partially correct to think of those as "grocers"). But I noticed the price has been pretty high at some of these places, especially the "real" grocery stores. So I thought, "what the heck... get it from Amazon!". And, I'm happy that I did, simply because with these 12 bar packs I won't have to scrounge the stores for "the slightly cheaper pricing". So, my general comments. First of all, I usually prefer the 90% Lindt bars because though they are somewhat bitter, they take longer to melt in your mouth, so it makes the experience more heavenly. Now some people don't like that much bitterness and I saw a number of folks be unhappy about that. My experience is if you are really trying hard to avoid ALL SUGARS, or as much as possible, by not drinking soda, juice, cool-aid and/or eating sweet candy bars, etc. that your tongue gets REALLY sensitive to LACK of sugar, and then, then you are ready for the experience of Lindt 90%. (my dietary efforts are to approach living with the "Caveman" or Paleo, diet, as much as possible. Yes, ANY dark chocolate is NOT on the "approved list" for Paleo. It however is my one and only exception, and makes BEING on Paleo MUCH more tolerable. (a man has GOT to have at least ONE vice, right?) Anyway, back to Ghiradelli dark chocolate in particular. (wow... I am long winded) Anyway, it is creamier than Lindt 85% and, of course, 90%. It also melts faster, but because it does so, the flavor is outstanding! I really do love it. (but I alternate with the Lindt, "just because" of loyalty to the fact that their chocolate melts more slowly and they also have the 90% too.)
