High Definition gives faster speed and highest quality of recording but also less space. Even then you can comfortably fit 5-6 movies on a disc in HD mode. If you go for normal speed and lower quality like SP ,LP or EP you can get up to 40 hours but then defeats the purpose of having a Blu-ray recorder.
