Of course you can cut meat with it. Lots of carving knives sport serrated edges. I've used this to slice meats, cheeses, and homemade breads. I can not slice as thinly as shaved meat, however. **Q: I noticed this said right-handed knife. Does that mean I won't be able to use it correctly if I am strongly left-handed?** A: No, it will not work for left handed people.
