The original base would allow a new one to snap in place, but this one will not. I have a tight area and was counting on that, BASED ON THE PHOTO which obviously was a mistake. I really did not want to have to mount a new one. So, now I have wasted time, put out a hundred bucks and become annoyed. Please, for any other "suckers" put the correct photo up.This is not a bad product but very aggravating to have been misled by the photo. Rating of 1 due to aggravating frustration. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Sump-Pump Substitute for tight places *by G***E on Reviewed in the United States on May 20, 2015* We bought a house a year ago and started experiencing minor flooding in the basement. We managed to track down the source of the water to a 4"x 4" Gravity drain that was backing up and flooding when it rained hard and when the washer emptied. Obviously 4x4 was too small for any sump pump to get into and so we started saving up for the 10K it will take to fix the basement.A few months ago when everything thawed and the flooding got worst I resolved to find a stop gap. After checking some forums I found some folks trying this bilge pump. I ordered it and a 12-volt power converter and set it up.Since I set it up there have been zero flooding even during the spring rains. The pump kicks on automatically every 2 1/2 minutes, if it feels water it pumps it dry, shuts off, and waits another 2 1/2 minutes. Our flooding was always prefaced with a build up of ground water into the drain so this pump it tucked down far enough to kick on as soon as water starts building up.Let me be clear if this is what you intend to use it for. It is not an out of box solution. You will need a basic understanding of hooking up electronics. You will need to connect the leads to post terminals and all that without instructions but that is what it is.It is not a solution to a habitually flooding basement but it is a cheap and workable stop gap solution between flooding and dropping lots of money for the permanent fix. ### ⭐ Got 6 months off it before it died *by R***O on Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2018* I've been buying these pumps for 11 years and I've been through 6 of them. This one failed quicker than average. They have a tough job but all my other pumps are Johnson's and they last, on average, 6 years.NOTE: Since being purchased by Xylem, the warranty is apparently also worthless. There is no warranty support page on Xylem's site. For over a week Xylem has not responded to my request as to how to make a warranty claim.Week 3: Another email to Xylem a week ago.
