Getting to stands for 40 bucks [with free shipping on Prime] was a bargain to say the least!I've used these stands about a half-dozen times and they do exactly what I need for them to do - support my speakers. I use American Audio ELS15A speakers and they weigh about 25 lb each. These stands hold the speakers without any problem. The speaker cabinets are probably about 2 foot high by 18 in square.The supports are made of aluminum and have plastic fittings. The extending Pole has a half-dozen holes drilled at preset Heights. As mentioned by others, be sure to use the PIN through the hole as your basic support tighten the nut just to keep solid.Be sure to use these stands properly. Don't try to force them open or try to hold more speaker then they're rated for by weight. They will serve you well if you serve them well.My only complaint is that the extending Pole will spin in the Tripod base. I can mount my speakers and tighten the nut on my speaker to hold it to the pole but the pole itself will spin within the tripod base.Are the materials not the highest of quality? Sure. Is it possible to break the plastic fittings? Of course! But what else are you expecting for 40 bucks for the pair?They are good solid stands for a very good price. If you don't beat them up, they will serve you for a long time.
